Video posted with the kind permission of Sean Goebel, who explains the details: "After backpacking to a ridge above the remote Sawtooth Lake in Idaho, we filmed the 36 hours surrounding the August 21, 2017 solar eclipse. Photos were captured at 2-second intervals during the eclipse and 1-minute intervals during the rest of the time. Besides the eclipse, the video captures smoke from wildfires, the milky way passing through, green and purple sky glow (especially prominent on the second night), and many night hikers. Over 2400 images were used to produce this. The native resolution is 8K."
